Assistant to Vice President, Trading and Asset Optimisation

Trading and Asset Optimisation (TAO) organisation optimises the best price for electricity production and consumption and hedges earnings from these operations with commodity derivatives far into the future. About 95 TWh of physical electricity trading and about 200 TWh of trading in commodity derivatives pass through TAO each year. We operate in several commodity exchanges such as Nasdaq Commodities and ICE, as well as physical electricity markets such as NordPool and system operators ancillary services markets. We also operate Fortum’s hydro plants to enable total optimisation of our hydro fleet in the volatile energy market. In-depth understanding of the electricity business and market knowledge are an essential part of TAO's business. In addition, TAO Ventures pilots new start-ups such as Fortum Spring.

About the role

We are looking for you, an energetic Assistant to support our Vice President, Trading and Asset Optimisation (TAO), as well as the TAO organisation in our Generation Division to ensure that business objectives are accomplished and our operations run efficiently.

Your primary role is to provide day-to-day administrative and operational support for our Vice President. You plan and orchestrate work to ensure the Vice President’s priorities are met, organizational goals are achieved, and best practices are upheld. You participate in managing communication between management and employees, liaising with different stakeholders on various projects and tasks. You ensure effective time management and communication, and have a central role in ensuring a positive work atmosphere and engagement across the organisation. This might include, but not limited to, for example complex calendar management, meeting, travel and event arrangements, presentation material preparations, supporting smooth onboarding of new employees and similar activities.

Additionally, you will provide support with similar activities to TAO Management Team and act in key role in arranging and running Management Team Meetings and related practicalities.

You will report to our Vice President TAO and your work location will be our Espoo Keilalahti Campus.

What we are looking for

You have minimum 5 years experience of supporting directly senior executives in an international company. You preferably have an undergraduate (e.g. Bachelor’s) degree, in a suitable field.

You have excellent organizational skills, with demonstrated attention to detail including e.g. overseeing budgets and expenses, and the ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks and priorities in parallel in a fast paced environment. You are proactive in your way of working, deliver promptly what has been agreed and feel comfortable working independently. You also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), ability to keep company confidences, and capability to build a positive working environment around you.

You are used to primarily work in the English language, in which you are highly proficient (Nordic languages are seen as a plus). In addition, you are a fast learner, familiar and competent with different modern IT productivity tools, and interested in digitalization. You are  proficient in Microsoft Office and other modern productivity tools, with aptitude to learn new systems and software.
