City Solutions division is responsible for developing sustainable city solutions into a growing business for Fortum. The division comprises heating and cooling, waste-to-energy, recycling and expertise sales.

Your role

This is an opportunity for you to be part of a business that will ensure a greener future for all of us. We are looking for a Commercial Manager to our Ash & Slag business in Finland. You will be accountable for developing Fortum’s position and customer base in the Ash and Slag market in Finland, and ensuring development of customer relationships, profitability, customer loyalty, and satisfaction. This includes all customer activities, such as contracts, negotiations, and other marketing tasks in order to contribute to maintaining and increasing the market position. You will also have a responsibility in managing mineral outlets and the productization of minerals. This includes, among other things, finding and developing new utilization options and high-value applications for these materials from external sources, and coordinating the whole utilization value chain, whether it is utilization at our own sites or customers' location.

Your main responsibility will be the following areas
• Value creation for customers through customer relationship management, offer management and contract management
• Sales execution, including planning and follow-up
• Pricing execution and management of mineral outlets and productization of minerals

Your qualifications

To succeed, we need people with varying backgrounds, people who are curious and eager to make an impact. The ideal candidate for this position has previous experience in recycling and waste business and experience in sales management, key account management as well as managing 3rd party business relationships. You should understand end-to-end processes and optimization of value chains. Your approach towards business operations should be data-driven and you have high ability to see the big picture. You should have strong collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills.

As an ideal academic background, you hold a master’s degree in relevant field. We expect fluency in written and spoken Finnish and English, other languages are an asset.
