Data Engineer

Would you be our new Data Engineer to join Posti ICT’s Data and Automation Team? 
 
Together with your team, you will be responsible for developing and improving Posti’s Data and AI Platforms, the foundation on top of which all Posti’s data-related solutions are developed and deployed. You will also be working with reporting & analytics developers, data scientists, product owners, technical managers, and any other relevant stakeholders within Posti to ensure the platform and tools provided by the Data Engineering team for use throughout the company, are fit-for-purpose and state-of-the-art. 

We have set up our Data & AI Platforms on Microsoft Azure, and we are relying heavily on cloud-native technologies which are constantly developed and improved. As such, we recognize that in order to keep our toolkit up to date, we also need to constantly develop and improve our platforms to fully leverage the new possibilities made available through novel technology. Also, the modern platform is much more than ETL and data warehousing, and to provide high-quality tooling for application developers throughout Posti, we also need to embrace best practices. The Data Engineers’ role is also pivotal in creating the foundation for data-driven company culture, enabling quick access to reliable data and making it easier for everyone to use data in their day-to-day decision-making. 

Would this be you? 

• Some hands-on industry experience in developing cloud-based data platforms 
• Strong technical background and programming skills (preferably Python) 
• You are familiar with Azure or AWS cloud and services
• Agile mindset and experience with agile methodologies 
• Ability to communicate fluently in different levels of the organization  
• Proven ability to take initiative and be innovative 
• Fluent verbal and written English

You will work as a member of Posti ICT’s Data and Automation team and an agile team of data, data science, and intelligent automation professionals, who strive to respond to the needs of a transforming postal, parcel, and logistics business. We develop new ways of utilizing Posti’s data for better decision-making and enhanced efficiency. We utilize the most modern technologies and practices to ensure the long-term efficiency of the solutions we build.
