ESG Analyst

Mandatum Asset Management Ltd (“MAM”) is a new asset management company that was formed by combining Sampo Group’s proprietary balance sheet, client assets and the investments operations from Sampo plc and Mandatum Life. MAM offers discretionary and consultative wealth management and manages various investment strategies within the core areas - Credit, Alternatives and Equity selection. MAM’s direct clients are Nordic and European institutional and UHNWI investors, other client segments are covered through selected distribution networks. Mandatum Asset Management belongs to Sampo Group and is a sister company to Mandatum Life Insurance Company Ltd. At inception, MAM will manage around 24bn euros and employ 100 investment professionals.

Mandatum Asset Management is looking for an ESG Analyst to join the team.

Data is at the heart of ESG and we want to provide our clients with state of the art reporting on the sustainability of their investments. We are now looking for a finance and investment professional, who ideally has extensive theoretical knowledge, a few years of relevant work experience in investments or financial markets and a strong ambition to develop yourself further.

As an ESG Analyst, you work closely with the Portfolio Management teams and various other stakeholders across the organization. You will have an essential role in shaping the organization’s sustainability approach. Your main tasks are:

  • to produce and develop the ESG reporting of our investment products and our clients’ investment portfolios
  • to take part in various projects related to responsible investing
  • to maintain awareness of ESG trends and tools
  • to work collaboratively and support different internal stakeholders in ESG matters

The role can be extended to other responsibilities depending on your abilities, experience and motivation.

To succeed in the position, we expect you to have the following qualifications 

  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience from reporting, middle office, consulting or similar, preferably from the financial sector
  • Master’s degree in relevant field
  • Excellent knowledge of financial instruments and markets overall
  • Excellent communication skills both in Finnish and English, Swedish is considered as a strong plus
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to handle large masses of financial and market data
  • Hardworking, self-motivated, and team-minded
