Purpose of the position

The position is part of the KalmarOne product management team having the overall objective to contribute effectively to the commercial success and customer satisfaction of the KalmarOne terminal automation system. Main responsibilities are: develop and implement the strategic plan for the specific products/product group. Ensure product competitiveness through effective product management, globally & cross functionally. Identify and consolidate market needs, manage product portfolio and contribute to product development plans.

Key accountabilities:

• Understanding the market, customer needs, price level and key competitors of the nominated products;
• Ensuring the managed product meets the customer requirements;
• Ensuring that the product/product group competitiveness and other
  key targets and performance standards are realistically set and
  attained;
• Providing the product requirements and technical specifications for NPD projects:

                 - Key technical requirements of the product;
                 - Features and functions requirement of the product.

• Maintaining the product cost structure at different customer and application segments;
• Ensuring the product documentation is managed and upto date;
• Being responsible of the product lifecycle management and secure continuous product improvement;
• Collaborating actively with different internal stakeholders to ensure successful deliveries and support of the Kalmar solutions;
• Providing inputs to the internal process development and alignment within the corporate guidelines for the ways of working;
• Liaising and interfacing with customers, sales and marketing and customer service and project managers, engineering and operations to obtain feedback, recommend product enhancements and determine the product's future direction.

What you’ll need to succeed:

Education

• M.Sc or B.Sc in Engineering or similar.

Experience

• Experience on data collection and analysis in the industrial applications;
• Practical experience on the utilization of KPI’s for maintenance and trouble-shooting in service business;
• 5+ years of experience in product management in industrial applications, with emphasis on product planning and life-cycle management (required);
• Strong commercial and technical product management mindset and experience (focus on commercial);
• Some experience on terminal automation systems is a clear advantage;
• Industrial customer understanding;
• Good people and communication skills;
• Good coaching and leadership skills;
• Good commercial and technical understanding and vision.

• Capable of seeing both the big picture and the small details. Capable of managing dependencies with interest of going as deep as needed in analysis;
• Always driving for results and solutions;
• Capable of sharing knowledge, experience and information. Open and transparent in all operations.
