Purchasing Manager (Tampere Supply Center Operative Procurement), Valmet - Tampere

Valmet's Automation Systems business line (AS BL) is now looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Purchasing Manager for its Global Procurement function.

As Purchasing Manager, you will lead the AS BL Tampere Supply Center (TSC) Operative Procurement team. You and your team are responsible for the operative purchasing activities in TSC serving global Automation System projects as your most important internal customer. You're expected to develop processes, tools and competencies of your team and you will participate in operative actions related to daily procurement, working closely with your colleagues in AS BL Global Procurement and Global Supply Chain organizations. This role requires occasional traveling to our suppliers.

The key responsibilities and tasks in this role include:

Securing the availability and timely deliveries of purchased goods and services
Planning the purchasing activities based on project needs and schedules
Monitoring the supplier network performance and delivery situation
Keeping the supplier related master data up-to-date in our IT systems
Supporting the Global Procurement Category Management team in Supplier Relationship Management and Category Strategy implementation related tasks
Managing daily supplier relationships
Reporting your progress on agreed KPIs related to savings, quality and capacity

You will report to the Director, Global Procurement and be located in the Yrittäjänkatu office in Tampere.

Requirements

To succeed in this position, you need to be result oriented and business driven. You understand the importance of teamwork in achieving results and are willing to develop our operational procurement to the next level to meet the demands of our growing business.

In addition, we believe that you have the following background, competencies and abilities:

(Master's or Bachelor's) Degree in Engineering or Economics
Strong leadership skills, previous managerial position experience is an asset
Previous experience in Procurement
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Solid IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel
Good communication and interpersonal skills
You understand the importance of procurement in total cost reduction and margin improvement
Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken
Previous experience in using Infor LN ERP system is an asset
