We are looking for a

Researcher, Organic analytics

to join the Research Analytics group. The position is located in Neste Technology Centre, Kilpilahti (Porvoo).

Neste Innovation function’s Research & Development drives renewal in the industry. Research Analytics group is a part of this pioneering work and responsible for the analytics supporting R&D projects, Innovation business units and production. An essential part of the work is to develop and apply new analytical methods.

Your main responsibilities in creating a sustainable future
  
In your position, you will be responsible for the feedstock, intermediate and product related analyses and the analytical method development for algae oil and biomass with a team of experts. You will work as an analytical expert and work closely in cross-functional projects with other experts from Innovation Business Units, R&D and production and also with external parties providing analysis and testing services. You will participate in the development of our research laboratory by possible analyzer and equipment investments. In order to be successful in the role, strong coordination skills are required. Our work combines accountability, cooperation, and the desire to develop and renew. Working safely at all times is essential to all of us.

The best combination to success in this role

• At least Master’s degree in organic chemistry (or other similar relevant)
• Solid experience in organic chemistry and organic analysis techniques
• Knowledge and experience in the research of algae
• Knowledge on the food and feed related standards
• Experience in the method development and validation
• Excellent coordination and collaboration skills in research project work
• Development oriented mindset
• Proactivity and can-do attitude
• Fluent English
• Possibility to travel and spend some time (from days to weeks) abroad

We also value:

• Doctorate degree in organic chemistry (or other similar relevant)
• Teaching experience on chemistry in academia
• Broad knowledge in different analytical methods and different sample matrices
• Experience in pilot scale operations
