About the role

Are you a highly-motivated and ambitious law student interested in working as part of the global legal team of a publicly listed international company? If your answer is 'yes', then you might be exactly the one we are looking for.

As legal trainee at Fortum, you will support our legal team and also other stakeholders in a variety of different assignments ranging from reviewing contracts to conducting legal research and providing general day-to-day legal support, also depending on your personal interests and previous work experience. You will be based in our company headquarters in Espoo. This is a full-time traineeship for a fixed period of 6-7 months. We hope you will be able to start your traineeship with us in mid-August 2022.

What we are looking for

You are currently a law student who is preferably at the final stages, or at least past the mid-stage of the studies at a Finnish law school, or you can otherwise demonstrate solid knowledge of Finnish laws and the legal system. Kindly note that our trainee program is aimed at law students who have not completed their master's degree yet. In addition: 

  • you have an excellent command of Finnish and English (both written and spoken), and good communication skills in general; 
  • you are quick to grasp the overall picture and to analyse new information;
  • you have ability to take initiative and attention to detail;
  • you have a positive can-do attitude and are not afraid of working independently;
  • previous work experience gained at a law firm and/or as part of a company in-house legal team is considered an asset.
