Business Unit Automation as part of Division Rock Drills and Technologies is driving an exciting and revolutionary transformation in the mining industry. We are now looking for an Automation Engineer, Autonomous Equipment for AutoMine® team to support our current and growing business in the field of digital mining products. This is a full-time permanent job and based in Tampere, Finland.

About your mission

As an Automation Engineer, Autonomous Equipment your main responsibilities will be:

  • Work part of the high professional team developing existing and future navigation systems of autonomous equipment
  • Work in close collaboration with equipment manufacture divisions in Sandvik
  • Ensure agreed content and quality have successfully delivered on time and cost
  • Provide hands on expert level assistance for technical issues and for training
  • Define specifications and collaborate development activities with internal and external stakeholders

About you

You have a Master or Bachelor’s degree in automation/software or similar. In addition, you have experience in automation/software development and good background in C / C++ / Matlab / Python. You could be beginning of you carrier or an expert, the job description will be adapted according to your experience and background.  Your previous experience from autonomous equipment’s, 3D laser-based navigation or machine control systems is highly appreciated. You are a team player and your way of working is systematic and you have passion to get things done in time and quality. This job requires excellent documentation and verbal skills in English and willingness to travel occasionally.
