Trading and Asset Optimisation (TAO) organisation optimises the best price for electricity production and consumption and hedges earnings from these operations with commodity derivatives far into the future. About 95 TWh of physical electricity trading and about 200 TWh of trading in commodity derivatives pass through TAO each year. We operate in several commodity exchanges such as Nasdaq Commodities and ICE, as well as physical electricity markets, Nord Pool and TGE (Polish Power Exchange). We also operate Fortum’s hydro plants to enable total optimisation of our hydro fleet in the volatile energy market. In-depth understanding of the electricity business and market knowledge are an essential part of TAO's business. In addition, TAO Ventures pilots new start-ups such as Fortum Spring.
About the role
We are looking for a Back Office Specialist to join our Financial Back Office team in Espoo Keilaniemi.
As a specialist, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operative tasks related to commodity derivatives trading in exchanges and OTC transactions with our customer in Nordic Markets. We are ensuring the correct trade life cycle in relevant systems from trading to the accounting. Daily tasks are e.g., regulatory reporting, reconciliation of trades and positions, responsibilities of correct trade data in all system including the correction process. One of the main and the most important daily task is Nasdaq collateral management process. At the month end you will participate in month end activities such as settlements, invoicing and accounting reconciliations.
You will be part of a team where operative tasks are combined with development of processes. You will be participating in development of processes and systems together with the team. You work in close co-operation with traders, risk management, treasury operations and finance to ensure quality and efficient post trade derivatives process. Currently the team is working partly remotely and will continue in a hybrid mode in the future as well.

What we are looking for
We expect you to have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field together with a passion for electricity market or you have some years of relevant working experience e.g., in financial institution or energy trading company. In order to succeed in this position, you need to be motivated to learn new and enjoy working both independently and with the team. Good communication skills are needed. You are solution-oriented and have a drive for continuous improvement. In your working day you handle a variety of different tasks both routine and more complex which both requires high attention to detail. You need to have fluent written and spoken both in English and Finnish language. It is an advantage if you master one of the Nordic languages.
