Chief Automation Designer, Delivery Process

As a Automation Chief Designer, you will work with a team of forward-thinking individuals that are well-versed on industry standards and best practices to identify creative solutions for a diverse set of design and engineering challenges. You will lead work in the future design of automation for the E2E manufacturing process to cover full site automation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead the detail design work in plant and equipment level automation

  • Take part in designing plant and process level specific solutions

  • Reviewing and achieving the agreed engineering quality, cost and schedule targets

  • Provide technical support to external design offices and all internal groups e.g. Supply, Service and Product Management to facilitate successful design, delivery and installation of equipment

In this permanent position, you will report to Director, Operational Excellence and Safety. You will be located in our Vantaa Head office.

What you'll bring to the team

Strategic thinking, analytical mindset and strong business orientation are needed to succeed in this role. Your approach is process-oriented and consistent, and you tolerate complexity and uncertainty well. You are known for your strong collaboration and interpersonal skills as well as delivery execution skills. You communicate fluently in English and in Finnish.

Your proficiency is based on

  • Bachelor’s or MSc degree required; Computer Science or Engineering preferred

  • 5 years of experience from automation systems, technology, process and services understanding

  • Competence in several areas of electrical, instrumentation and automation engineering

  • Strong experience in electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, power and control electrification for industrial plants, electrical commissioning experience.

  • Work experience in plant and equipment engineering

  • Understanding of engineering tools: PDM, AutoCAD, EPLAN and applicable PLC programming environments (Siemens TIA portal, Allen-Bradley)

  • Know-how of plant level automation systems and how to combine equipment’s into plant system

  • Understanding of productization
