Design Engineer / Chief Design Engineer, R&D

Are you ready for new challenges?

We are looking for a Design Engineer or a Chief Design Engineer to BDS (Boiler Diagnostic Systems) R&D. The BDS products cover high performance infra-red and visible wavelength camera systems and gas temperature measurements which are used by industries (pulp, energy, steel) to e.g., maximize combustion efficiency while minimizing unplanned boiler and furnace outages.

As a design engineer, you learn to know BDS products and technology well and you also understand the process requirements. You will be technology owner of BDS products, support production and be main contact between R&D and product groups. You will manage the development and upkeep projects of the BDS offering and participate to product development.

To succeed in this role, you need to have independent way of working and ability to lead development projects. As you are part of international organization fluent communication in English is required and you can occasionally participate to meetings outside office hours as vital part of the stakeholders are placed to US.

You will be placed in Tampere where we have strong presence of R&D as well as the production.

Who is the professional we are looking for?

You are willing to take technological ownership of the products also having strong background of project management.

To be successful in this position:

• Suitable educational background (M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in some field of engineering)

• Engineering background for example from process or process equipment

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

• Good social and presentation skills          

• Experience and knowledge of combustion process is considered as a strong benefit for the candidate
