The Tampere site is a global technology and manufacturing center for drilling equipment. In SMR's Underground Drilling Division, we develop mining equipment for underground drilling, hauling and loading, as well as mining automation for our global customer base. Our underground drills equipment product development teams are located in Finland and France.
Would you like to develop the world's best underground drilling equipment? We could have a suitable job for you, as we are now looking for two Design Engineers for our mechanical designer group in Tampere.
Your key tasks
You work as an expert in the product offering development team at the Tampere site. You are part of the design team and your tasks include different development tasks for underground drilling equipment. You take care of the implementation of our modulation principles at different design stages, develop our concept and design components and mechanical solutions for drilling equipment. You work closely with other engineering functions, manufacturing, product support, spare parts sales and our suppliers.
You have a suitable technical education (M.Sc. or Engineer). You work independently, actively and on a long-term basis. You communicate well also in English. As an advantage we consider your previous experience in machine design tasks, part manufacturing, project performance and the use of NX and Teamcenter programs.
Your key tasks
You work as an expert in the development team for the product offering of underground drilling equipment at the Tampere site. You are part of the design team and your areas of work include, in addition to mechanical design, the administrator of certain key design processes beyond the design teams, utilizing Sandvik's ERP systems and tools. You take care of e.g. correct allocation of the production feedback process, managing order-specific planning in resource management systems, and other corresponding engineering sub-processes and tools.
You have suitable technical education (M.Sc. or Engineer) and some experience in design tasks. You work independently, actively and on a long-term basis. You communicate well also in English. You have the ability to embrace and use a variety of information systems as well as understand changing entities.
