About the role

If you are passionate about CI/CD in a product development environment and you want to help us to automate build, testing and releasing aspects we want to hear from you.

This is an opportunity to join our team as a DevOps Engineer with an international company that is at the forefront of lighting controls technology innovation. You will be working closely with operations and software delivery teams to ensure a successful release of the products according to our process. 

Your key accountability is the setup and maintenance of the build environments for our product portfolio across our two sites. This role focuses on delivering build services that focus on simplicity, decoupling, testing, iteration and deployment with a strong emphasis on cloud architecture. You will facilitate the general maintenance of our products and services and creating better ways of working by removing silos between the various teams. Additionally, you may support provisioning and automation activities working alongside other engineers where you will provide the code, technical expertise and knowledge to deliver an automated process throughout the product development life cycle.

Your daily tasks will include elements of the following:

  • Implement and maintain all the build pipelines for the product portfolio
  • Contribute to the implementation of a strong CI/CD culture in the organisation
  • Supporting your development team colleagues to maintain and improve quality
  • Monitoring and reporting progress to the Solution Managers and Operational Excellence

Key experience

To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate at least some of the following competences:

  • Strong Linux, scripting and automation experience
  • Experience with Jenkins in a commercial setting
  • Experience of working with AWS in a commercial setting
  • Reasonable fluency in at least one programming language C++/Java/Node.js/Phyton
  • Experience working with configuration management tools and multiple code pipelines
  • Some experience of test automation frameworks e.g. Robot Framework, Pytest
  • Experience of working with geographically distributed teams and across cultures
  • An inquisitive nature, high attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • A good work ethic and an eagerness to learn. Tolerance towards ambiguity

Education & Qualifications

  • A degree in a technical/scientific discipline or significant experience in a similar role
