About RF Research and Development

RF research and development unit creates future proof radios with pride, passion, and joy with around two hundred employees from over ten different nationalities. With our commitment to radio research and development, driven by Mobile Networks RF Development Unit, we deliver the best-in-class radios for mobile networks. We are looking for a SW developer to join our new RF Simulation environment & Tools team. Our team provides a virtual SW development platform by procuring, developing, and maintaining simulation environments that are used by Nokia’s SW development teams.

What you will learn and contribute to

You will play a key role in enabling SW development without the developer needing access to the physical HW.

We are looking for a motivated software professional, who is enthusiastic about driving new solutions and tools for SW development. You will be challenged to think in new ways and to work with cutting edge tools to build capabilities and solutions that have never been done before. You will be joining to an agile team, where we will determine your detailed role based on your experience and interests.

Are you passionate about solving problems? As part of our Simulation Environment & Tools team, your responsibilities include:

  • Co-verifying software running on simulated hardware
  • Creating light-weight reference implementations to verify and debug simulated hardware
  • Acting as a technical expert in discussions with the tool suppliers. Providing
    detailed requirements for the technical implementation of the simulation models
  • Co-operation with the tool suppliers to continuously improve the quality and functionality of the tools that we use
  • Supporting Nokia’s SW development and Continuous Integration in different product development projects

Your skills and experience

You have:

  • BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar
  • Experience with C++ in embedded systems
  • Experience of HW/SW integration, debugging and problem solving

We expect you to have effective teamworking skills, good communication skills in English (both written and spoken) and willingness to work in a multicultural environment.

Good to have:

  • Experience with embedded Linux (e.g. Yocto)
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with Device Modelling Language (DML)
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with SW development utilizing simulator environments (e.g. QEMU)
  • Experience of HW peripherals
  • Familiarity with telecommunications technology
