Engineering Manager

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to Boiler and Gasification Plants technology unit in Tampere, Finland. EBG technology unit develops, sells, and delivers BFB & CFB Boilers, gasifiers and pyrolysis technology solutions to the energy producers and other industries worldwide.

As Engineering Manager, you are responsible for the project technical execution and you work closely alongside with Project Manager. You lead different fields of engineering in the project by managing the schedule, coordinating the work, collecting and sharing information, and giving technical support. You are often the first point of contact for technical queries from the customer, suppliers, and internal stakeholders during the whole project timeline from sales to commissioning. You'll have a strong role in purchasing, and you are also responsible for managing the project documentation flow and distribution.

Expectations

To be successful in this position you should have a suitable technical education (M.Sc. or a B.Eng.), experience in related tasks in industrial environment and a proven track record of leading projects or project engineering successfully. Experience from international projects and from at least one power/boiler engineering discipline would be very beneficial. You are fluent in English, both written and verbal. Other language skills such Swedish or German are appreciated. This position requires travelling.

You are a self-driven customer- and goal-oriented person, with a capability to make decisions sometimes with limited information and you have a proactive approach to speak up and push your projects forward. To lead the project team and stakeholders as well as to prioritize customer needs you need to know how to motivate people and manage different expectations. You work systematically, can withstand pressure without losing your sleep, and can manage your time and priorities even in quickly changing situations.
