IT Delivery Manager, R&D

Sandvik Business Area Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions (SMR) is a leading global high-tech supplier of equipment, tools and service solutions for the mining and construction industries. Our offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.

Sandvik SMR IT is SMR internal IT organization responsible for providing sustainable and secure IT solutions and services utilizing our internal IT production, external suppliers, and managed services. Delivery area R&D is a team of global experts working closely with Sandvik Business Areas and Divisions on PLM and R&D related IT solutions and services. We are now searching for IT Delivery Manager, R&D to lead this team. The role is full-time, permanent and located in Tampere, Finland.

Your role

As an IT Delivery Manager, you are responsible for managing and developing IT Delivery Area R&D including demand, delivery, service and support, project and stakeholder management for selected IT services and solutions. In this role you are reporting to Head of IT Delivery, SMR IT and you will be a member of the SMR IT Delivery management team. Your responsibilities:

• Managing a group of 12 IT professionals
• Development and profitability of your delivery in accordance with the IT strategy
• Relationship management with business, vendors and other SMR IT stakeholders
• Managing one of the BA SMR's most critical service as well as 12 other services
• Operations and availability of several applications used by over 9000 end users globally
• Incident and request management according to the agreed SLAs
• License management for two major R&D applications within Sandvik
• IT demand, delivery and service management in R&D Domain
• Information security and risk management for the services in question

Your background

You have a suitable degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in a related field e.g. in Engineering or Computer Science. Your background is from Engineering and/or Manufacturing environments and you have a minimum of five years of experience in a management role. You have preferably experience on PLM/PDM and engineering/R&D IT systems and solutions – developing and supporting them. You are eager to learn new things and develop yourself professionally and you are used to responding to shifting priorities in a fast paced and changing IT landscape. You are service minded with customer focus, experienced in planning and organizing, and your skills to coordinate and interact with team members and key stakeholders are excellent. Since our customers and employees are located around the world fluency in English is mandatory and willingness to travel is also required. You have a business minded, results oriented attitude and you are proactive, self-motivated and one with a lot of initiative, courage and integrity.
