We are looking for a permanent position a
Process Engineer, Pilot Area
to join our Piloting and Refining Research team in the Technology Centre, Kilpilahti industrial area in Porvoo. Our team is part of the Catalysts and Refining department in Neste Innovation. We provide expertise in process and technology development tasks and catalyst testing in pilot scale as well as refinery processes know-how needed in R&D projects and expert services.
Your part in Neste journey
In your role, you will take part in our R&D projects and oil refinery tasks as a Process Engineer working in our piloting projects. Your main responsibilities include
- To participate in coordinating planning, supervising, and reporting
pilot scale experiments made for feedstock pretreatment, process
development and catalysts evaluation activities to produce high quality
products from fossil, renewable, waste, or recycled feeds.
- To participate in development activities of our pilot area including equipment, facilities, processes, and operational safety.
You will work closely with a cross-functional team of experts, business development, production and with various external partners. You will report to R&D project managers and Pilot area R&D manager. Later, you may also work as a project manager.
The keys to success in this position
The best combination of experiences, skills and background is
- Master's or upper degree in chemical engineering
- Knowledge of chemical process equipment
- 2-4 years of experience of operation in pilot or production scale
- Hands-on attitude and interest on operation
- Knowledge and keen interest of safety and HSE-processes
- Knowledge of Management of Change process (MOC)
- Good cooperation and communication skills
- Full professional proficiency in English and Finnish
We also value
- Earlier experience of R&D work
- Knowledge of biobased, waste, and recycled feedstocks
- Project management skills
