Procurement Category Manager, Investment Projects

About the role

We are looking for a Procurement Category Manager, Investment Projects to strengthen the Fortum's Corporate Procurement team.

In your role you shall

• work closely with a project team and act as procurement key contact towards stakeholders
• have overall responsibility of investment project’s procurement activities including reporting, coordinating, negotiating
• optimize the total cost of ownership (TCO) related to project procurement cases

You will be reporting to Head of Procurement City Solutions, working with focus to City Solutions Division and in close co-operation with Heating & Cooling and Recycling & Waste procurement and project teams.

Your other responsibilities include tasks such as implementing the category strategy, executing sourcing projects in own category and in close co-operation with business area procurement and project teams, executing operative procurement cases in Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Poland, coordinating the supplier relationship management as well as measuring the category performance. You shall be located to Fortum HQ at Espoo, Finland, however with flexible possibility to combine remote and office work.

What we are looking for

You have an academic degree in a relevant field such as technology or business. You should also have a relevant commercial and technical background to work with your category. Previous experience, at least 3 years, in category management or strategic purchasing in field of investment projects (technical goods/services) and in field of public procurement is a clear advantage.

You also need to have strong leadership, collaboration and project management skills. Furthermore, you have strong problem solving and analytical skills, proven negotiation skills and the ability to challenge established ways of working.

In addition, you are fluent in oral and written Finnish and English. Skills in other languages is an advantage. You are also willing to work with cases abroad and have ability to travel within Nordics and Europe if needed.
