Product Engineer, Trucks

Load & Haul Division’s Turku plant with in Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is an industry leading global provider of loaders and trucks for underground mining industry. Our Product Development organization is currently looking for an active and innovative Product Engineer for Trucks. The position is permanent and located in Sandvik Turku site which is a global technology and manufacturing center for loading and hauling equipment.

Your mission

You work as a Product Engineer in Trucks R&D product team. You take technical ownership and responsibility of defined underground hard rock truck models. You act as a leader for all engineering changes during product lifecycle. Your main responsibilities are:

• to ensure that your products are designed according to internal and external requirements
• to ensure that engineering data is available in databases
• to maintain product structure and product configurator data
• to act as a project manager for small scale R&D projects

You work closely with product line manager, other teams in R&D and product development organization, manufacturing, assembly, sourcing and spare parts as well as our suppliers and other partners. Depending on your background, the different specific responsibilities may also be part of your job description.

Your character

You have a suitable educational background (Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanics), 3D CAD knowledge, and some years of experience in product development tasks. You are an innovative person with a genuine desire to develop new solutions and entities, as well as to complete challenging tasks. You have organized way of working and have passion to coordinate teamwork. Your previous knowledge of mobile equipment, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, control systems and cabins, as well as experience in strength calculation, welding, castings and design to cost principles, are considered an advantage. Success in the position requires you to have your own initiative and active work approach, good interaction and teamwork skills, perseverance and fluent oral and written skills in English.
