Product Safety Engineer, Underground Drilling

In Division Underground Drilling within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions we set the industry standard for premium drilling equipment solutions in underground mining and tunneling. Our knowledge of underground drilling applications combined with our customer support ensures that optimal solutions are recommended and delivered to our vast customer base.

Our Product Safety team is currently looking for a proactive Product Safety Engineer. The role is full-time, permanent and located in Tampere, Finland, which is the center of Drilling, Automation and Software Technology.

About your role

As a Product Safety Engineer, your main responsibility is to ensure together with key stakeholders that new and existing products placed into market are in compliance with the applicable safety regulations in their intended market areas, and that the documentation related to product safety is in proper level. 

In this role, you will focus on

• Improving product safety in our current products and in new product development projects
• Risk assessments and functional safety analyses
• Different market area Safety Standards and regulations interpretations

You will work in cooperation with customers, authorities and engineering are part of your expertise. And together with other team participate to safety process continuous improving. You will be supported by other team members. Role will be fitted to applicant knowledge level.

About you

You have a

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Understanding of electricity and automation
• Knowledge of standard process as described in ISO 12100 and ISO 13849
• You are a good team player and able to work in international multi-cultural environment
• Fluent spoken and written English is expected
