R&D Engineer, Board and Paper Machine Rolls

Do you want to become a front-line expert in mechanically most demanding board and paper machine components?

We are looking for a R&D Engineer for roll products of Paper and Board Machines.

Deflection compensated rolls, suction rolls, dryer cylinders, heavy nip rolls and lead rolls are key components in board and paper machines. They can be simple looking rotors with extremely high manufacturing accuracy or they can be complex mechanisms with internal vacuum or overpressure or hydrostatic loading systems and sealing solutions.

In this position you will participate or lead product development projects and problem solving cases related to different roll products. The job includes development of products, testing of ideas and documenting results. Creating and maintaining of product models and instructions is also part of the job.

Job includes technical support for Sales, Engineering, Procurement and Production. In everyday work you identify development needs and create ideas for new products and development projects.

As Development Engineer you will work as a part of Rolls Development Team with versatile experts around you. Good team skills and open mind for new ideas and continuous development will help you in this position. Willingness to travel is necessary occasionally.

Who is the professional we are looking for?

• You have Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering.

• You can be an experienced engineer or in the beginning of your professional career.

• You are familiar with 3D engineering software. We use Catia V6.

• Understanding of manufacturing methods is an advantage.

• Basic knowledge about FE analysis and ability to make analytical calculations help in this job.

• You are good in analytical thinking and problem solving and you have good written and spoken communication skills in English. Finnish and other language skills are beneficial.
