Strategy Process and Implementation Manager

Generation division is responsible for the large scale power production, physical optimization and trading activities in the Nordic area. This division comprises nuclear, hydro, wind and thermal power production, portfolio management and trading, industrial intelligence and nuclear services.

About the role
As our "Strategy Process and Implementation Manager" you will become a valuable part of our newly formed Strategy & Development function within our division Generation. We are driving strategy and business development including co-ordination of M&A transactions, the optimization of Fortum’s generation investment portfolio, operational excellence, industrial electrification and hydrogen business development well as asset digitalization.

The Strategy & Development team works closely with other business areas and Fortum divisions. Your key priority will be managing strategy processes within Generation, driving our strategical development projects and working with strategical deep-dive studies to deliver Fortum Generation’s strategic ambitions.  This role will report to the Head of Generation Strategy & Development.

This role can be located in Espoo, Finland or Stockholm, Sweden.

Your tasks will include:

  • Management of strategy process within Generation division
  • Working together with Generation Business Areas to drive, support and facilitate specific strategical work as an internal consultant and/or strategy process facilitator
  • Management and driving the selected strategical development initiatives of Generation division as a project manager/initiative leader
  • Preparation of analyses, market studies or other deep-dives required for the strategy work
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders to drive strategical development
  • Leading project specific cross-divisional teams in matrix setup to achieve project specific objectives

  • You have solid understanding on energy market
  • You are strategic thinker and you know how to develop and implement strategy
  • You are analytical and data driven and you can manage complexity and uncertainty
  • You are experienced and competent in stakeholder management
  • Preferably you have experience in management of development projects with strategical importance
  • You have a desire to learn and grow, as a professional and as a person
  • You are a dedicated team player with strong communications skills in English, both written and spoken. Finnish, Swedish or German skills would be an advantage
