In our team in Oulu (previously known as KNL Networks), the R&D team is focusing on solutions providing reliable global access to critical data. The service is based on secure intelligent software defined radio, which enables truly global terrestrial wireless network. The radio and the network are a unique integration of HF-, cellular- and mesh technologies and typically it is used to collect, process and send IoT data from the vessels or remote locations of critical industry. In governmental applications it enables mission critical communication in all situations. High reliability and cyber security are key requirements for our products and services.

We will now strengthen our R&D team in Oulu with a SW Engineer.


Job description:

In this position, you will work with our WaveAccess COLLECT service, which enables global coverage for end-to-end IoT services for maritime industry. You are focusing on data collecting and processing systems and services. Tasks include typically following areas:


-Integration of our systems and services with the customer systems

-Development of data collecting and processing services

-System- and SW testing and verification development

-Requirement analysis

-SW development



Background and skills we are looking for:


-You do not have to know everything, but you must be willing and capable to learn.

-Suitable B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in automation, telecom, computer science or similar

-Python, Javascript and shell scripting skills

-Embedded Linux Yocto knowledge

-SQL skills

-Understanding of network protocols like HTTP, DHCP and TCP/IP

-Understanding of industrial automation protocols like Modbus and NMEA is an advantage

-Robot Framework knowledge is an advantage

-Jenkins and Git/Gitlab experience
