Fortum eNext helps utilities and energy intensive industries improve their operations and reduce emissions. The HQ Power project is a 70 MWe peat fired power plant situated in Rwanda. The five-year agreement with Fortum covers the operation and maintenance (O&M) services of this new plant including technical services and IT tools needed for the operations. The construction of the power plant is ongoing and should be completed by early 2022. The project is an important part of Rwanda's industrial development as part of the East African Community (EAC).
About the role
We are now looking for an Technical Manager for the HQ Power Plant.
As a part of management team, you are responsible for the overall safety and quality management of the Plant. Your management responsibilities will include home office technical support. You will provide engineering support as a part of the Operational and Maintenance team to ensure plant and equipment availability are met.

What we are looking for
You have a degree M.Sc. or B.Sc. Engineering preferably within Mechanical, Electrical or Process discipline. You have preferably 5 years' experience from power plant operations and working in Fortum group for minimum 2 years.
You have the ability to demonstrate effective management and understanding of legislation with regards to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements. You also have good understanding of financial management including budget planning, forecasting and cost control. You are fluent in English language.
