The Parts & Services Division in Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions has a unique opportunity for a Technical Offering Support Manager for Underground Drills. The primary focus of this role is to ensure aftermarket considerations are included in the product development, by providing engineering design and technical expertise associated with Parts & Services products being used in the commercial offering, supporting Parts and Services Product Line offering development as well as managing distinct assignments and processes in active R&D projects.

In this role, you will report to the Engineering and Project Office Manager within the Parts & Services Product Line. The position is located either in Lyon, France or Tampere, Finland.

You collaborate with the Technical Services, Engineering and Project Office departments of the Underground Drilling Division and you provide technical support to the Product Line Managers during the development of new products and the improvement of existing products. You also provide support to the company’s Intellectual Property (IP) strategy.

You will represent Parts & Services within Equipment Division NPD projects, participating to apply the design for aftermarket principles from G0. During the NPD process you will lead the actions to support the new P&S project model together with the project team and ensure compliance with the stage gate model to improve Parts & Services operational readiness as new products are introduced to the market.

You ensure all new products are developed to the required quality requirements whilst considering customer requirements, risk, operational needs, reliability and function. You provide engineering advice and guidance concerning EHSQ aspects related to the specification, design and testing of Parts & Services products.

Your background

You have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline. A M.Sc. in engineering is desirable.

To excel in this role, you have several years’ experience working with heavy equipment engineering applications. You have good understanding of the aftermarket business, end-customer’s operating cost expectations, equipment design and system-software concepts, and a thorough knowledge of engineering principles.

You have a proven track record of leading small to medium sized engineering and process change projects from concept through to completion, including budget and schedule management.

You are self-motivated, creative, hands-on and organized, capable of successful follow-up and completion of complex matters. You have excellent influencing skills and an ability to develop trusted and collaborative relationships with business stakeholders.  As the organization is a global player, you naturally need well-developed English skills.
