Senior Project Engineer, Marine

We are now looking for a Senior Project Engineer for our delivery projects. In this role you are responsible for the technical planning and implementation of project deliveries ensuring timeliness, cost efficiency and meeting of customer expectations. Your main tasks are to design Marine Control System, test and commission the product in the yards. You'll be working together with the project manager, customers and project team. The work will require travelling world-wide for surveys and start-ups.

The main tasks and responsibilities in this role are:

• Technical project design
• Implementation of automation solutions
• Application Engineering
• Participate and contribute in surveys and customer meetings
• Participate in factory acceptance testing
• Startup and supervision of installation at ship
• Delivery of system to customer

Expectations

You have B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in automation, instrumentation, cybernetics, or other relevant degree. To succeed in this position, you should already have gained working experience in the similar field and you would be ready to step in a more senior role.

To be a successful senior project engineer you'll need at least some of the following skills:

• knowledge of software architecture and programming of control systems.
• experience from marine propulsion control systems, especially for electric or hybrid propulsion is considered a strength
• process knowhow of Marine and experience related to DCS/PLC Marine control systems is considered as a strength
• experience from testing and commissioning/start-up of control systems
• knowledge of maintenance and operation of distributed control systems (Valmet DNA)
• Good English language skills, both verbal and written. Finnish language skills are also preferred.
• Some years of working experience in a related field
