We are now looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team of professionals in Kalmar Automation Solutions located in Finland, Tampere.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining state of the art software for operating fully automated container terminals operating around the globe
• Gaining high level of expertise and knowledge on complex automation software backend solutions
• Designing and implementing solutions for moving machines and container flows efficiently in container terminals
• Taking ownership of software components which you develop and deliver as part of the team
• Playing a senior role as a software engineer and using your experience to support others
• Collaborating with test automation and release management teams

What you’ll need to succeed:

• MSc or BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science or similar field
• 5+ years of experience in software development projects
• Problem solving and team working skills
• Willingness and ability to learn new things
• Fluent communication skills in English
• Experience in C# (.NET Framework,  .NET Core), Python*
• Experience in Unit testing
• Experience in Agile software development methods, tools and processes

*experience with other programming languages and technologies used in backend systems is also beneficial e.g. related to databases, gRPC and containerization
