Sourcing Specialist – Electronics

Underground Drilling Division within the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is responsible for development and sales of premium drilling equipment solutions for underground mining and tunneling globally. Our knowledge of underground drilling applications and our customer support ensures optimal solutions for our vast customer base. Our Sourcing team has a unique opportunity for a Sourcing Specialist – Electronics. This position is based at our global technology and manufacturing center for drilling equipment in Tampere.

Your role

As a Sourcing Specialist you will be part of our Commercial Components Category and supporting its overall activities. The position is a hands-on role delivering value through analytical and commercial expertise in strategic sourcing. Overall, you will be part of an exciting journey in developing supplier’s performance, new technologies and sustainable solutions together with our suppliers. The main responsibilities will include:

• Establishing and managing a relationship with selected suppliers mainly in the area of Electronics including negotiations and contracting of commercial terms
• Supporting Commercial Component Category in Sourcing strategy development and implementation
• Developing of quality, cost, flexibility and on time delivery performance of suppliers
• Maintaining of item and supplier data in ERP system across Category
• Active cooperation with key stakeholders from Procurement, Supply, Engineering and Product Management.

About you

As a person you are an energetic and highly motivated team player. You can easily build strong professional relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. Your active way of working and capability to take needed actions with sense of urgency are driving you to deliver results. Academically, you have suitable degree from a commercial and/or technical discipline. You have several years’ experience from area of Sourcing and knowledge of Electronic systems is seen as a benefit. This job requires willingness to travel and fluent English language skill.
